Irish Hunger Memorial
Located directly across from the hotel, The Irish Hunger Memorial is a reminder to New Yorkers of the devastation of the infamous events that led to the Great Irish Famine and migration of 1845-1852. During this time hundreds of thousands of Irish migrated over to New York to escape the Great Hunger.

Located at the site of the former World Trade Center’s, the 9/11 Memorial is a national tribute to the victims of September 11, 2001. The two reflecting pools, which feature man-made waterfalls, sit where the former towers once stood. The names of every victim of the atrocities are inscribed on the bronze panels at the edge of the pools.

Created by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1922, Jane’s Carousel features 48 handcrafted horses and two chariots. In the 1980’s it was bought at auction and was painstakingly restored to its former glory. Jane’s Carousel now proudly sits in Brooklyn Bridge Park on the East River and is open to the public.

The Westfield World Trade Center was opened in August 2016 as a replacement to the former Mall at the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. Inside this two-story center there is a selection of luxury stores, restaurants, boutiques and more.
